If You’re Feeling Discouraged – There Is Hope!!
13 November 2021
Are you feeling, lonely, depressed, or just plain old discouraged by almost everything in your life right now? I know that in today’s society, there is a lot to be depressed about. But I want you to know that God had a plan for your life and Jesus can get you through ANYTHING that comes your way. We must have faith that He will. But it will all be resolved in His time…not ours.
1st Peter 1:6-9 says “Wherein ye greatly rejoice though now for a season, if you need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”
What this means, is that even though we might not see God plan for us, and that it is good, all will be revealed upon the return of Jesus. This passage tells us that there will be trials of fire and that with keeping faith, we will go through that fire essentially unharmed. Faith is more valuable than gold. Gold eventually will no longer exist in value, but you must keep your faith which is eternal. Love, believe and trust in Jesus, even though you cannot see him. Rejoice in Him and accept the salvation of your soul.
Philippians 4: 6-9 tells us, “ Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
In layman’s terms, this tells us not to worry or be anxious about anything, but pray and ask God for everything that you need. Always giving thanks. God’s peace which is so great that we could never understand it, will hearts and mind in Jesus. Always think on things which are good and worthy of praise. Think on things that are true and honorable, right and pure, beautiful and respected. Praise God in everything. Jesus told us not to let our hearts be troubled but to trust in God, and…trust in Him.
2nd Corinthians 4:8-10 says, “We are troubled on every side, yet not be distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”
We may have troubles, but if we don’t let ourselves get upset over them, we will triumph over them. Keep in mind and always remember that we can do all things through Jesus Christ. Just hold on to your faith and do what God wants us to do. If you do, you will receive the rewards which God has promised. We will receive the harvest of eternal life when the time comes, as long as we never give up. Put your hope in God and Jesus; be strong and brave. The Lord is our light. He will save us. You can trust in that. You can trust in Him.
God loves you! Jesus Loves you!! And so do I!!!
