Victory Of The Believer 18 September 2021
1 John 5:1-12
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of His Son. He that believeth on the son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave His Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
This passage specifies the believer’s ability to overcome the world. Building the confidence in Jesus for the believers is paramount. John encourages us to examine our own lives for our relationship with Jesus. It also challenges the false teachers who have slandered the character of Jesus, as it says in verse 10…God hath made him a liar. I just LOVE that!! Those of you who do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was crucified and raised from the dead, and ascended into heaven, do not have the option of eternal life. But those of you who do believe, will live forever with Jesus! I love that even more!!! The key to all of this is LOVE. Our love for Jesus, our love for God, and our love for others is shown to be both a source of confidence and a sign of faith.

Dear Lord,
We believe that our Lord Jesus is the son of God, in human form, that He was perfect in all ways and led a sinless life. That He alone is the source of our salvation. We believe that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, and that He died on the cross for us. His sacrifice was to provide all who receive Him as our savior, salvation and eternal life. We repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. In His precious and Holy Name. Amen
No go and walk with Jesus, follow the lessons that He taught. Be Blessed by God, and be accepting of His love and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
